Cury School Consultation

The Special Partnership Trust Consultation

The Special Partnership Trust, wishes to consult on:

The development of Cury School as a SEN Primary School partner of Nancealverne School and member of The Special Partnership Trust.

We are writing to you with details of a proposal to develop Cury School as a SEN Primary School as a member of The Special Partnership Trust. The Special Partnership Trust is an equitable partnership of schools and specialist provision, with schools in Devon and Cornwall.  The Trust are ambitious for excellence in learning and support, constantly seeking to improve the offer to SEN young people and their families through collaboration, challenge and cooperation across the partnership.

The Trust www.specialpartnership.org is working in partnership with Truro Diocese https://trurodiocese.org.uk and Cornwall Council to develop an exciting opportunity to develop Cury School’s potential and to cement its position within the local community.

The Trust want to provide a specialist SEN provision for 25 primary aged pupils in the west of the county, provisionally linked to Nancealverne School.  The size and locality of the school will provide capacity to meet SEN need in this area of the county. The school will serve three LA localities covering west and mid Cornwall.  Cury School proposed opening to pupils is between September 2023 – December 2023.

Cury School will provide a professional SEN network, outreach offer and CPD support for local schools. Collectively this network will allow local schools to access the leadership and management, specialist practice and CPD, experience knowledge and skills of the Trust.

We wish to consult parents, carers and members of the wider community about the proposed school’s conversion to a SEND primary school. The consultation period will start on the 05/12/2022 and end at 5:00pm on the 30/01/2023.

As part of the consultation there will be the opportunity for parents and members of the community to meet and ask the Trust leadership and Diocese representatives about the proposals for the school on the 12th January at Cury School. These consultation sessions will run between 10am and 1pm and again between 3pm and 6pm, that day.  Please could you email curyinfo@specialpartnership.org if you would like to attend one of the consultation events.

We have also prepared some Frequently Asked Questions for you to read online at www.specialpartnership.org/curyschoolconsultation alongside further consultation documentation. These will be updated as the consultation progresses.
