Victoria Hatton

Member

Victoria is an associate solicitor at Browne Jacobson LLP specialising in providing education law advice to schools and academies. She has held school governor positions since 2010. She was Chair of Governors of Doubletrees School for 4 years and remains a trustee of the Moor and Coastal Partnership Trust, a cooperative learning trust.

Gaynor Edwards

Member

Gaynor has worked in education since 1993, initially working in schools and since 1999 with the Local Authority supporting schools by providing financial guidance and training across the county and assisting with budget planning and monitoring. Gaynor has qualifications in both accountancy (AAT) and teaching (CertEd) and has experience in governorship, both as a trainer and a governor.

Lisa Michell

Chair of Trustees

Lisa taught in primary schools for over twenty years. Her roles have included Assistant Headteacher, Headteacher and Executive Headteacher of Ladock and Veryan Church of England Schools which are part of the St Piran's Cross Multi Academy Trust. Lisa graduated from Keele University in psychology and biology but also has a passion for developing literacy skills and worked for a number of years as a Leading Literacy teacher and Associate Literacy consultant for the Local Authority.

David Barton

Member

Following 35 years teaching in secondary schools across England, twenty five of them as a senior leader and manager, David first moved to Cornwall in 1996 to take up the post of Deputy Head at Wadebridge School. He then moved to Budehaven Community School as headteacher in 2002. Since retiring from headship in 2016, David is a self-employed education consultant; most of his work is in his role as the Consultant Executive Officer for Cornwall Association of Secondary Headteachers (CASH), supporting secondary school leaders in their work, organising conferences and representing them in many different local and national forums.

As well as being a Member at Special Partnership Trust, he is Vice Chair of Trustees at the local secondary school in Wadebridge (a single academy trust); is a Trustee with Aspire Academy Trust and a hub councillor at St Breock Primary School (an academy within Aspire). David is a Director and Trustee of Kernow Education Arts Partnership (KEAP).

Wendy Brett

Member

Wendy worked in education for 38 years. Starting her career teaching mathematics in an East London comprehensive school. Moving to Plymouth her career developed teaching in inner city schools. At Lipson Community College (1985 -2005), she progressed to Head of Mathematics, Head of Sixth Form, leading the post 16 consortium of three schools, Assistant Principal and Vice Principal, before leaving to take up the role of Principal at Sir John Hunt (2005-2017) in Plymouth. Here she led on the development of a new building on a shared campus, introduced a sixth form to the only 11 -16 school in the city and improved outcomes for the young people. She worked in partnership with the primary and the special school on the vision for the campus and opportunities for all young people.

Wendy worked with partner secondary schools across Plymouth, chairing the secondary partnership, she also chaired the School Forum for Plymouth (2015 -2018).

Wendy continued to teach Mathematics throughout her career, she is passionate about learning for all young people.
