Outreach Proposal

The Special Partnership Trust outreach offer draws on a co-ordinated team of specialist staff – Support staff, Teachers and Senior Leaders across the Trust.

We believe that all children/young people with SEND should be educated in the setting which most successfully meets their needs and leads to them having best possible outcomes, with the young person being effectively supported in a mainstream setting.

Our outreach offer allows staff to build upon their existing skills, knowledge and expertise so that they are better equipped to cater for those children and young people with SEND in their care.

We believe that schools should be inclusive and their staff should have the skills to meet a wide range of individual needs effectively. We can offer specialist advice and insight to your team, supporting your staff in situ.

Our skilled teams will work with you to:

  • Build good links between special and mainstream schools and develop a shared ethos with a focus on maximising pupil potential, growth and outcomes
  • Share best practice in pedagogy and support to help you make best use of resources available to you to support your learners
  • Be non-judgemental and offer support as a ‘critical friend’ to share your concerns, whilst aiming to help implement specific external agency advice
  • Offer suggestions as part of a professional dialogue

We can provide modelled support for your class teams, offering training or guidance to staff and interventions that are effective. Shadowing opportunities are available in the special school setting to give staff confidence and enable them to gain new skills. Our proactive approach has been shown to be effective in ensuring children/young people flourish in their local school. We want to support all schools to deepen their staff knowledge and skills in order to enhance the delivery of effective learning and to have a beneficial impact on those children with the most complex need.
