Salary / Range: Main Pay Scale (£30,000 - £41,333) or UPS (£43,266 - £46,525) + SEN1 point of £2,539 per annum

Supervisory Responsibility For: Class Team of SEN Teaching Assistants

Curnow School is an outstanding school and a founding academy of The Special Partnership Trust, a multiacademy trust in the South West which is striving to provide a consistently high quality standard of special education across the region.

Curnow School caters for pupils aged 2 - 19 with severe or profound learning difficulties as well as a number of students with autism. Our younger students attend Curnow Lower School - a purpose built provision based on the same site as Illogan Primary School which offers our young learners an environment which is conducive to their needs and one which helps meet our aspirational target of inclusive learning. Our older students attend Curnow Upper School in Redruth which is also a well equiped provision, catering for students with a wide-range of needs.

We are now looking to to recruit a suitably experienced SEN class teacher to be based at a recently opened provision based at St Columb Major in North Cornwall. This provision is for EYs and KS1 pupils with social, communication needs and/or autism.

• An outstanding practitioner with good knowledge and experience of working with children with SEN, ideally within the primary sector.

• A teacher with energy, creativity and passion for working in SEN education.

• Experienced in working alongside other professionals to deliver a personalised tailored curriculum.

• Is calm and patient and commiitted to all aspects of inclusion.

• Can demonstrate the ability to deploy staff effectively within a classroom setting.
