Whilst we operate within a clear legal framework that defines roles and responsibilities across all levels of governance, this section provides a practical overview of how each role contributes to the success of the Trust.

Governance Roles
- Members: Guardians of the Trust’s strategic direction. They meet twice a year to scrutinise progress and developments.
- Trustees: Actively monitor and shape strategy across all areas of Trust performance. They support, challenge, and hold operational leaders – including the CEO and CFO – to account for performance and compliance.
- Local Governing Bodies (LGBs): Focused on school improvement at a local level. They monitor, challenge, and support schools in delivering outstanding learning and represent the views of pupils, staff, and families.
Executive Leadership
- Chief Executive Officer (CEO): The Accounting Officer for the Trust. Responsible for all operational aspects, strategic development, safeguarding, performance, and compliance. Works in partnership with Trustees and external agencies to expand and enhance provision.
- Chief Finance Officer (CFO): Oversees finance, estates, health and safety, HR, risk management, and capital projects. Accountable to the CEO and Trustees, with a focus on compliance, efficiency, and income generation.
- Governance Manager / Clerk: Ensures governance processes are legally compliant and clearly communicated. Manages documentation and supports effective communication across all governance levels.

These roles work together to deliver on the Trust’s strategic aims. They are deeply interconnected with our vision and values, and critical to building a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
