Lampard Community School aim it so meet the education, social and welfare needs of children who have Education Health Care Plans for their complex profile of needs and who have significant needs related to communication and interaction.
The school caters for 196 pupils aged 4 to 16 and serves the community of North Devon.
Lampard is located in Barnstaple, with easy access to the A361/A39.
The Role
As School Farm Hand, you will undertake full responsibility for maintaining the school farm and associated animal cover during weekends and school holidays for 4 hours per day. You will care for and monitor the health of animals, liaising with staff and vets when needed. Ensure farm activities comply with regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies, maintaining records and provide handovers to weekday staff.
We are committed to providing training and CPD to all staff and in developing your skills. Previous experience and training in working with pupils with special educational needs would be desirable but not essential, as enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are the key attributes needed to be successful.
As School Farm Hand, you will undertake general maintenance of the school building and facilities, provide practical support in arrangements for meetings/events and to assist in maintaining the security of the school buildings, with specific responsibilities for maintaining the school farm and associated animal cover.
