Our Schools and ARBs

Budehaven ARB 

The ARB at Budehaven School is a specialist facility catering for children with an Education, Health and Care plan who have complex or multiple learning needs or disabilities. Some children are primarily educated within the ARB, whilst others spend a larger percentage of their time accessing inclusive, supported provision within mainstream. Application for a placement within the ARB is coordinated by the SEN team at County Hall, Truro. Applications for ARB specialist provision are made by the Primary School SENCo during the Year 5 Annual Review process.

Brannel ARB 

The ARB at Brannel School is a specialist, purpose built facility catering for children with an Education, Health and Care plan who have complex or multiple learning needs or disabilities. Although children are primarily educated within the ARB we strive to provide inclusive, accommodating and accessible provision for children within mainstream if and when appropriate. Application for a placement within the ARB is coordinated by the SEN team at County Hall, Truro. Applications for ARB specialist provision are made by the Primary School SENCo during the Year 5 Annual Review process.

 

Falmouth ARB 

The ARB at Falmouth School is a specialist facility catering for children with an Education, Health and Care plan who have complex or multiple learning needs or disabilities. Some children are primarily educated within the ARB, whilst others spend a larger percentage of their time accessing inclusive, supported provision within mainstream. Application for a placement within the ARB is coordinated by the SEN team at County Hall, Truro. Applications for ARB specialist provision are made by the Primary School SENCo during the Year 5 Annual Review process.

 

Curnow School 

Curnow School is a community special school catering for learners aged 3-19 years with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties.  It currently has 94 learners on roll.  It was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ at its last inspection by Ofsted on 11 June 2019.  The school is based in Redruth and admits learners from Mid, West and North Cornwall.

Doubletrees School 

Doubletrees School is a community special school catering for learners between the ages of 2-19 years with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties.  It currently has 93 learners on roll.  It was judged to be ‘Good’ at the last inspection by Ofsted on 2 October 2019.  The school is situated in St Blazey Gate near St Austell and takes in learners from the North and East of Cornwall, ranging from Truro across to the Plymouth/Devon border, including the North coast of Cornwall.

 

Nancealverne School 

Nancealverne School is committed to and passionate about, the learning and progress of their pupils. Staff and governors have high aspirations for the children and young people. They provide a specialist high quality, relevant and balanced education for young people aged 2-19 who have severe, profound and complex learning difficulties. This focuses on individual, personal and academic achievement.  There are currently 85 learners on roll.  Nancealverne was judged to be ‘Good’ at the last inspection by Ofsted on 5 July 2019.  The school is situated in Penzance and takes in learners from the south west of Cornwall.

 

 

Orchard Manor School 

Orchard Manor School is a residential school that caters for nearly 200 students aged 3-19.  The school provide education and care for pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, Autistic spectrum conditions and learning needs.  Pupils attend either weekly residentially (Monday – Friday) or as day pupils.

The motto is ‘We live and learn together’.  This is achieved through working in partnership with all stakeholders and other relevant professionals.  We treat each child as an individual and ensure the learning opportunities are challenging and engaging.  Our aim is to help each child enjoy education which will enable them to be successful members of the school and wider communities. 

Our School is situated in beautiful woodland grounds, in the seaside town of Dawlish.  We provide a wide range of opportunities to learn outside and offsite to enhance the education and care of our pupils.  

 

Pencalenick School

Pencalenick School provides special education for 124 pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 who have been identified through their Education Health Care Plan as being in need of a specialist provision due to their complex learning difficulties, associated anxieties and social needs. Our catchment area is the whole of Cornwall. We are able to offer weekly or short-term boarding places; a feature of our school that extends the range of our education programmes.  The school was judged to be ‘Good’ at the last inspection by Ofsted on 23 May 2019.
